How to play Egyptian Rat Screw
Goal: Win the whole deck. The deck is split between you; take turns flipping your top card onto the centre pile.
Face cards & Aces: When you flip a Jack, Queen, King or Ace, your opponent must "answer" it — they keep flipping, trying to turn up a face card or Ace of their own: up to 1 card to answer a Jack, 2 for a Queen, 3 for a King, 4 for an Ace.
Answered: If they turn one up in time, the tables turn — now YOU must answer theirs the same way.
Not answered: If they run out of tries, you win the whole centre pile and add it to the bottom of yours.
Slap: Any time the top two cards match (7, 7), or a pair sandwiches one card (7, K, 7), slap the pile — fastest hand takes it, whoever's turn it is. A wrong slap burns one of your cards to the bottom of the pile.
Out of cards? You get about four seconds to slap your way back in; if you can't, your opponent wins.
